About the Role
As a Chief of Staff in Canada Card at Capital One, you’re a problem solver with range, leaning into new areas with ease and adept at quickly identifying the root cause of a problem to inform and deliver solutions. You’re a self-starter who creates leverage for senior leaders by delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision, proactively reprioritizing as new demands arise to provide the highest impact strategic and tactical support for our organization. You’re effective at engaging with partners across all levels and functions, building trusted relationships that enable you to deliver accelerated results in a highly matrixed ecosystem. You possess an internal drive to seek constant improvement, regularly iterating on and optimizing processes and resources to do things better. You apply sound judgment in a wide variety of circumstances, anticipating and mitigating potential risks and removing barriers to progress. You’re a highly influential communicator across formats, adapting style, tone, cadence, and delivery to meet evolving business needs, incorporate new data, and manage stakeholders proactively and consistently. You are comfortable in new environments, applying your curiosity to connect the dots and quickly understand context and dynamics so you can know when and how to effectively challenge the status quo.
The successful candidate should demonstrate the following:

Your Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Chief of Staff - Canada Card is a critical position responsible for developing, managing, and evolving operational excellence within the Office of the President.
Reporting to the Head, Office of the President, this role owns the Canada routines and narratives central to Canada Card’s strategy. With heavy collaboration across Canada, the UK, and the enterprise, this role will drive efficiency in how we share our strategy and our progress toward it.
Partner closely with the Head, Office of the President and the senior leadership team to drive excellence across the organization by solving challenges, optimizing workflows, and implementing tools to improve transparency, consistency, and scalability
Play an outsized role in supporting growth; partnering closely to support specific Senior Leadership Team members and associated strategic executive communication
Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand processes and drive results, ensuring proactive, timely, consistent and effective communication between departments
Support strategic planning across Canada, inclusive of reporting and facilitating improvements in strategy development
Own timely execution of horizontal routines and reporting deliverables related to strategic and operational priorities
Proactively identify and elevate risks and impacts and make key linkages within our teams and the broader organization
Represent destination culture while driving meaningful change
Partner closely with delivery and communications, as well as other key partners, to elevate Canadian storytelling and drive our growth
Basic qualifications:
8+ years of work experience in business ownership, communications, change management, delivery, or chief-of-staff functions
3+ years of experience managing executive-level stakeholders across different business functions
2+ years of experience involving organizational design, staffing, budgets, talent, and/or culture strategy
Preferred qualifications
10+ years of work experience in strategy, organizational operations, change management, project / process / program management, or chief-of-staff functions
5+ years of experience managing executive-level stakeholders across different business functions
4+ years of experience involving organizational design, staffing, budgets, talent, and/or culture strategy
2+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams in Tech, Product, Design, and/or Data
Experience owning end-to-end communications strategic planning and execution, including department communications, leadership team meetings, presentations, and reports
Working at Capital One.
