About the Role

As a Process Manager within Capital One, you will work with extended teams across the enterprise to manage and improve your processes by ensuring we are keeping our promises to customers, meeting our regulatory commitments and continuously improving. You will work within an agile environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams so you’ll also have the opportunity to learn from other job families like Data Science, Compliance Advisory, Operations and Product Management too.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, manage and improve the AML Governance process, using a variety of tools, like Visual Management, Business Process Management, Lean, and Six Sigma. 

  • Implementing process improvement agendas, driving efficiencies, and using data to create better experiences for our customers and business.

  • Map out business processes, roles & responsibilities, understand inherent risks and define mitigating actions, and ensure we have the right controls and solutions in place.   

  • Develop, establish and deepen strategic relationships across the business. Partner, collaborate and influence upstream and downstream processes, internal partners, and AML Advisory to ensure AML/KYC requirements are being met.  

  • When AML/KYC breakdowns occur across the business, participate in their containment and remediation by using a variety of process management techniques and tools like Visual Management, Business Process Management, root cause analysis and Lean. 

  • Prepare AML/KYC training content, ensure it distributed and taken by all relevant associates, establish and track the appropriate controls

  • Lead stakeholder engagement efforts, including leading the Canada AML monthly business review meeting. Utilize exceptional communication, teamwork and influence skills to foster team alignment and drive process success

  • Develop and perform quality assurance routines, controls, and monitoring to measure and analyze process performance to manage the day to day activities related to the AML Governance processes, including review of process health, progress made on initiatives and prioritization of improvements 

  • Monitor Key Results and Critical to Quality Metrics, for the AML Governance process and all processes that support AML/KYC activities, and share performance insights to stakeholders (such as senior business leaders and accountable executives) and business partners and influence the adjustment of the AML/KYC business roadmap as necessary

  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and operational procedures, and ensure documentation is relevant and updated.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Completed a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field 

  • At least 4 years of experience working in process management, risk management or AML management, continuous improvement or project management roles.

  • At least 4 years of experience working in a cross-functional environment, ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed effectively.

  • Experience in basic coding and/or data visualization (e.g. SQL, Tableau)

  • Experience in risk management or AML related space

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional designation like yellow belt, blue belt, black belt, PMP, etc

  • Experience working in an Agile workplace environment

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional team

  • Structured approach to problem solving focused on defining problems and solutions based on data
