Manager, Targeted Offers

As a leader of Capital One Canada’s Targeted Offers team, you will play a key role in bringing our customer strategy to life. You will be accountable for defining and delivering on a roadmap that will include targeted offers and programs (such as upgrades strategies), designed to help drive increased engagement from our customers. Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Strategic Leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive stronger customer relationships for Capital One. This will require a proven track record of decision making and problem solving based on quantitative analytics and qualitative research. This person will be expected to successfully blend customer research and market insights with technology to build new offers or experiences to our customers. They will work closely with our Brand, Design, and Technology teams to change the way Capital One delivers value for our customers. 

Business Ownership: Develop and implement new programs, offers, and strategies with a strong ownership mindset. The Manager, Targeted Offers will lead analysis and strategy and display a strong focus on balancing both short and long term goals. They will be expected to drive and execute an agenda in an ambiguous environment and deliver on key performance metrics.

People Leadership: Lead and develop a cross functional team of 2-5 analyst and process team members. This role will require the ability to build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, and to build strong relationships with business partners across the enterprise. The Manager, Targeted Offers will be expected to create an inclusive environment that will help ensure their team can bring their full selves to work everyday. 

We are looking for a big-picture thinking, analytically minded team player who possesses a range of strengths: 

  • Customer advocate: Experience in customer-centred research or design, with a knowledge of design thinking principles. Ability to tie back strategy and roadmap to core customer needs. 

  • Cross-functional leadership: Experience leading a cross-functional team. The Manager, Targeted Offers will lead a team of Analysts and Process Managers. 

  • Analytically oriented: Experience in analytical problem-solving. Conceptual thinking skills must be complemented by a strong quantitative orientation. A successful candidate would not hesitate to get into the complex details of a problem and do the work alongside their team.  

  • Strategically minded: A thoughtful decision maker who is able to bring actionable and grounded recommendations to senior leadership. Able to identify and synthesize business challenges and opportunities, and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations. 

  • Influential communicator: Ability to communicate complex ideas both verbally and in writing, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect and interpersonal skills. 

  • Results oriented:  Focuses on driving impact both short and long term, and are able to drive and execute an agenda end-to-end from conception through to in-market delivery within an uncertain and fluid environment. Are not just about making recommendations, but getting stuff done. 

  • Team player: Helps us achieve more than the sum of our parts by collaborating effectively with others and encouraging an inclusive culture with diverse teammates.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in analytics

  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership experience (indirect or direct people leadership) 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience developing and delivering on customer focused strategies and campaigns
